Tapping into internal state of being, noticing hunger cues, and practicing non-judgement can help support one’s nutrition-related goals, whether they be weight loss, healthier eating, or simply a desire to enjoy food more. Mindfulness training and yoga have myriad, proven benefits, and both can help provide a different way of looking at the food choices we make.

This workshop will provide techniques for eating mindfully and will discuss foods that improve mood and well-being, along with chair yoga and breathing exercises that can help bring about a more balanced state. [Note: for the chair yoga portion we will mostly be sitting in chairs doing adapted yoga poses, with a few standing poses that have the option of using the chair for support.]

During this session, attendees will:

  • Employ mindful eating strategies that will make for healthier eating decisions

  • Use chair yoga and breathing exercises to improve mood and well-being
